What movie do you love to watch?
Fight Club – it was a great book, and an even better film!
How do you feel about social media websites such as Facebook and Twitter? Are they a good thing?
Absolutely! With them I communicate and respond, real-time, with anybody in the world. It helps me stay connected and relevant to my fans.
If you could do any job in the world what would you do?
I’m already doing it – being an author. Though a runner-up would have to be an astronaut.
How do you think people perceive writers?
I think there’s the old romantic view of writers – eccentric sorts, cooped up in an old garden shed, poking at a typewriter, dreaming up stories, guzzling coffee by the gallon. It’s a great stereotype, and I do like it. However, it doesn’t depict me at all! (all except the eccentric bit…)
What’s your next project?
My next project is a graphic novel version of my debut book – The Written, which was the first book in my Emaneska Series. It’s being drawn at the moment, and I’ve raised the money for it via a successful project on Kickstarter, which I was very pleased with.
What would you love to produce in your life?
A series of films based on books of The Emaneska Series. Hollywood, if you’re reading this – I’m happy to talk.
What’s the reason for your life? Have you figured out your reason for being here yet?
To write. It’s as simple as that for me. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.
His name is Farden.
They whisper that he’s dangerous.
Dangerous is only the half of it.
Something has gone missing from the libraries of Arfell. Something very old, and something very powerful. Five scholars are now dead, a country is once again on the brink of war, and the magick council is running out of time and options.
Entangled in a web of lies and politics and dragged halfway across icy Emaneska and back, Farden must unearth a secret even he doesn’t want to know, a secret that will shake the foundations of his world. Dragons, drugs, magick, death, and the deepest of betrayals await.
Welcome to Emaneska.
